Homework for the Week:
Monday 04/13:
- Read for 30 minutes Math - |
|
Homework Policy:
Due to the increased rigor in math in fourth grade, students should complete math homework during the week. This gives them valuable additional practice of the complex math concepts they are learning in class. Please note: students should be working on homework for no more than 20-30 minutes on each homework assignment. If they do not finish every problem, they can still hand their homework in for full credit. I give credit for weekly homework that is turned in by the Friday of each week.
The green Eureka math book labeled, "Succeed," is the homework book. Students need to keep their homework book at home, unless they are attending HOMEWORK CLUB. They can then bring their Succeed book to school on Mondays and Thursdays.
Homework Club will be held in either our room (D3) or Ms. Paras's room (D7). Ms. Paras and I welcome any fourth graders to attend homework club after school on Mondays and Thursdays, from 2:40-3:15 p.m. . We will both be there to help students with the math homework for that night.
There will be no Homework Club during Conference Weeks. We will notify you in advance if we need to cancel Homework Club on a given day.

Report Card Information
STANDARDS BASED REPORT CARD
Progress reports are issued three times a year at the end of each trimester. Student progress will be measured against the State Standards for the end of the school year. For this reason, the scores of 1 to 4 should not be equated to grades. This is very different from how we’ve measured progress in the past and can be confusing for parents. The expected score for a student at the first trimester is a 1, at the second trimester a 2, and at the end of the year a 3. Students who exceed the standard may be given a 4 at the end of the year. The Report Card is given to parents at the fall and spring parent-teacher conferences. Student’s hand carry the report cards home in June. You are encouraged to discuss your child’s progress with the teacher. |
For more information regarding the number grades you should expect to see on your child's report card at the beginning of the year, please click the button below. There will also be N/A's on the report cards because these standards have not yet been introduced or assessed.
